With the prevalence of Lockdown in the country, there is a complete halt to economic activities. A host of companies are struggling to cope up with the loss while motivating their employees to stay calm. Despite the high stress and anxiety that this lockdown is putting in the heads of many organizations, there are some positive impacts of Lockdown and Working from Home. We don’t seem to realize the benefits of working from home, and the productivity it offers to both the company and the employee. Have a look at 5 positive impacts and how it has changed our lifestyle-

Productivity increased– It is noticed that productivity has increased after people have started working from home. The reasons behind the increase in productivity can be frequent breaks an employee takes while working. He knows that if he is taking breaks in between, he should stretch himself to work even after office hours. An employee sitting at home and working doesn’t resist to work even after the office hours get over.

After noticing a significant increase in productivity, even the most renowned IT company Tata Consultancy Services said, 75 percent of their total workforce will work from home permanently by 2025.

More willingness to learn new things– While sitting at home to avoid getting an infection, people are inclining more towards productive activities. Learning new courses is one of them. Online learning platforms like Coursera, Udemy, Stanford, etc are offering free courses on their website to encourage more and more people towards learning.

No more Work-Life Balance struggle– Employees used to struggle with maintaining a healthy work-life balance before lockdown. While working from home, they can manage household things, spend time with family, follow an exercise routine, and pursue their hobbies. When there is no need to travel long distances, you can sleep more. Even if you are getting one-hour extra sleep, it adds to mental peace.

Rise in Happiness Index– There is a significant rise in the happiness index due to people spending more time with their loved ones. While working from home, they can be close to their family, play board games with them, cook meals, and do the arts. This time spent together with family is a big reason behind the rise in the happiness index. It is a way to deal with mental stress and improve mental health.

Co-operation and coordination improved– There is an increase in co-operation and coordination between the employees and the organization. Employees understand that while staying in the comfort of their homes, they can do any task that is assigned to them. They have started cooperating with the seniors and coming up with new ideas and strategies on their own.
